If you are looking for autumn scenery and crisp air, you may need to consider waiting to book your portrait session for sometime in October through the end of November. Unpredictable winter weather usually holds out from December through February, then we start seeing some wonderful sunshine-filled afternoons!
Spring sessions from March through the first week of May book up FAST with the gorgeous flora & fauna coming to life, so make sure to book early! June through September we can usually expect HOT afternoons with HIGH humidity and lots of bugs.
I always recommend that outdoor portrait sessions start one hour before sunset, no matter the time of year. Expect to book your portrait session 2-6 weeks in advance.
First, consider a sentimental location for your portrait session; I am happy to travel across Texas! I also offer a rustic, outdoor location in Marquez, TX.
Offering outdoor portrait sessions can be tricky for a plethora of factors, but weather is always one of the largest concerns. I am always watching the forecast, especially closely the week leading up to our session. If it looks like we will be rained out in the few days before, we can start looking at a couple of potential reschedule dates that I have strategically started building into my planner.
